The hoopoe is from 25 to 29 cm long and has a wingspan that touches the half metre. It has an erectile tuft and has a plumage with really unmistakable colors. The beak is long and thin and slightly curved downwards.
He loves dry, semi-wooded, warm, sunny places.
Distribution: native to sub-Saharan Africa, southern Europe, Asia and China.
Feeding: invertebrate larvae, big insects, spiders and molluscs.
