The squirrel tricolor (Callosciurus prevosti) is one of the most colorful squirrels, in fact it owes its name to its lively colouration. It’s an arboreal squirrel, which lives mainly on trees, building nests there, jumping and climbing there. In captivity, therefore, it needs very ample spaces.
It’s a diurnal animal, which doesn’t hibernate. It’s very sociable and very clean in nature; this makes it suitable for domestication.
Distribution: lives in the forests of the Malay peninsula
Feeding: omnivorous, eats all kinds of fresh fruits, dried fruits and vegetables.
