IGUANA IGUANA

The green iguana (Iguana iguana) is a saurian of the family Iguanidae, native to central and south America. It lives in the tropical forests, prefers the zones rich of vegetation and lives in the trees that arise in the vicinity of water streams. It spends most of its life on the trees where it loves to stay for basking in the sun and when it goes down to the ground it does it for mating or laying the eggs. Its dimensions are quite remarkable.. can reach up to about 2 meters in length and weigh even more than 7kg.

Distribution: Central America, from Mexico to the north of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Caribbean islands. Prefers the zones rich of vegetation,
Feeding: mainly herbivorous; at times it eats also insects.
