These species do not feed exclusively on grains but, in particular during the breeding phase of the young, integrate their diet with insects, that is with concentrates of proteins with high biological value. In the feeding phase the amino acid quality and digestibility of the protein fraction, the level of dexterity of starches, the origin of short-chain carbohydrates, the lipid content and the level of unsaturation of oils, in addition to other natural inputs (juniper berries, abies alba, etc.), are determinants of a good breeding success.
